Matt Reeves Shares The Batman Part II Script, Filming Update

Matt Reeves says the script for The Batman Part II is being finished.
The Batman was released in March 2022 by Warner Bros. Directed by Reeves, the DC film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, while Zoë Kravitz plays Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
Speaking with Kravitz for Variety's Directors on Directors, Reeves said that he's currently finishing up the script for the upcoming sequel to The Batman, The Batman Part II, and intends to film the movie next year.
What did Matt Reeves say about The Batman Part II?
He further said of his experience working on the script, "It's wonderful, except for the speed of getting something done. The thing is that for me, I feel like it's not a choice. I always feel like I would never do it the way I'm doing it, except that that's the only way I know how to do it. The metaphor that I use when I'm talking to my partners is that writing and filmmaking is like being in a dark room. Everything you need is in the room, but there are no lights, and you're on hands and knees. And when something connects, you go, 'Oh, that's something.'"
Plot details for The Batman Part II remain under wraps at this time. It is currently unknown who the main antagonist that the Dark Knight will have to face will be.
Jeffrey Wright, who plays Jim Gordon in The Batman Epic Crime Saga, said in November 2024 that he hadn't yet anything for The Batman Part II. He explained, via ComicBook, "I'm excited about getting back there, but you probably know as much as I know. I haven't read anything. I haven't talked to Matt for a while. He's been off doing his thing, I've been off doing mine. But I look forward to getting back there.
The Batman Part II is currently scheduled to be released in United States theaters on October 2, 2026, from Warner Bros.
