Daria Berenato and Toni Cassano have had an "exciting year" since tying the knot.

At the 36th GLAAD Media Awards, the WWE star, 31, revealed to PEOPLE just how she felt hitting the first-anniversary milestone with her wife.

"It's been the most insane year of my life," Berenato said. "I left WWE, I tore my ACL, I got married, and so many more things. So, it's been a very exciting year."

"A year of a lot of firsts, a lot of changes," she added. "But I mean it's the best when you marry your best friend."

Berenato revealed that she spent the anniversary in "game plan mode" with the fitness influencer after learning the previous week that she had been "released" from the WWE. She said they took some relaxation time and chatted about their next steps for the future.

"We were like, 'What do we do?' " she recalled. "So, we had a really cute little lunch date. We sat down, we talked about what we wanted the next year, the next chapter to look like, and we went and got massages. It was very low-key."

Part of the game plan includes launching a new podcast called Unwrapped with Daria and Tony and Berenato "working in the world of MMA." She noted that the pair had "a lot of things planned right now and they're kind of all unraveling at the same time."

"I can't say too much yet, but I'm going back to my roots a little bit," Berenato revealed. "We'll see how that goes. And then, yeah, I am open to wrestling somewhere maybe, but we haven't decided yet. And acting — acting is probably the forefront."

As for their family, the WWE star — who is stepmom to Cassano's two daughters, Giovanna and Valentina — said she's in favor of expanding it a little bit in the future. She added to PEOPLE that it was a "very hot topic" in their home.

"We're very 50/50 on another child at this point," she told PEOPLE. "We love our life and we love the way things are, but also like I want a little human that's ours. So we're very 50/50 on it right now. It's still being discussed daily in our household."

The pair wed on Feb. 10, 2024 — one year after Berenato proposed and two years after they met and started dating. After the pair got engaged, the MMA and WWE star couldn't help but gush about her partner.

"I found my best friend, my soulmate and my life partner all in one incredible human. She is the epitome of my ride or die," Berenato told PEOPLE after their engagement.
