'Tracker' Trailer Showed 1st Glimpse of Bobby's Return After Lengthy Absence

While it remains unclear exactly when Eric Graise is returning to Tracker as Bobby, there has already been a glimpse at his first episode back since that lengthy absence.
CBS released the season 2 midseason trailer in February, which teased more of Colter's (Justin Hartley) cases. In a blink-and-you-miss-it scene, Bobby is seen reacting to a development in the case after his surprising sabbatical.
Graise, 35, has been front and center on Tracker since the show debuted in February 2024. Despite missing a few episodes in season 1, Bobby was a consistent resource for Colter until season 2 introduced his cousin, Randy (Chris Lee), who filled in for him on several cases.
Fans started to grow concerned when Graise's prolonged absence wasn't addressed for five episodes in a row. There was a development during the Sunday, March 30, episode of the hit CBS series when Colter asked Randy if he heard from Bobby. Randy said he didn't before offering an update, saying, "You know how he gets. He doesn't like to talk about personal stuff."

Colter, meanwhile, noted that Bobby was going to his "friend's funeral," to which Randy replied, "I know that is hitting him hard. They were like brothers." While Colter "sent him a few texts," he understood that he hadn't "heard anything back" because Bobby "was just taking some time" for himself.
"He will get back to it — and if he doesn't then I will make sure he does," Randy added. "No way out but through."
Graise's costar Fiona Rene has also previously hinted that he will come back before season 2 wraps up. Rene, 36, was asked by TV Insider earlier this month about any upcoming guest stars she was excited for fans to see.
"I mean, can we just talk about Randy for a second? I love Chris Lee with everything in my body," she shared. "He's been such a wonderful addition to the Bobby dynamic, and I am very excited to see them together."
The season 2 absence comes after Robin Weigert exited the show. Weigert's character, Teddi, was written off in the season 2 premiere by having her wife, Velma (Abby McEnany), reveal that they needed some distance. Velma has since been working with Reenie (Rene), and Teddi hasn't been discussed despite her prominent presence in the show's first season.
"[Teddi] is going to be there for a while. She is helping her mom get sorted. I was getting in the way you might say and it really wasn't good," Velma said at the beginning of season 2. "So I came back. Don't you worry because I am keeping busy."

Despite the surprising shakeups, Tracker has continued to deliver the goods when it comes to exciting guest stars. Hartley, 48, previously confirmed that his onscreen siblings — played by Jensen Ackles and Melissa Roxburgh — would return amid their busy schedules. (After both being introduced in the first season, Ackles, 46, booked the upcoming Prime Video thriller series Countdown while Roxburgh, 31, stars on NBC's drama The Hunting Party.)
"[Melissa]'s show ends [production] way before we end so we can bring her back in the latter episodes of our show," Hartley told TV Insider in September 2024. "And then Jennifer Morrison's coming back to direct episode 6. I'm sure her character will be back."
Tracker airs on CBS Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.
