Madeline Brewer is ready to tie the knot!

The Handmaid's Tale star, 32, got engaged to cinematographer Jack Thompson-Roylance in January 2024. While chatting with PEOPLE at PaleyFest LA 2025 on Wednesday, March 26, Brewer shared how far along she is in wedding planning.

"[It's going] great. We're so excited," Brewer tells PEOPLE at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. "He's here somewhere. Wedding planning is insane, especially having two shows come out in April, but we're getting through it."

Brewer plays Janine in The Handmaid's Tale. The beloved series' sixth and final season premiers April 8 on Hulu. The actress will also star as Bronte, the new obsession of Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), in You's fifth and final season, which premiers April 24 on Netflix.

Just three months after her two hit shows release, Brewer will say "I do."

"We get married in July," she says, noting that wedding planning has been split between her and Thompson-Roylance "50/50 for sure."

"He's English, so we're getting married in England," she adds.

With Brewer based in the United States, planning a wedding in England has had its challenges, but nothing has dampened the couple's excitement over their big day.

"Planning from across the pond is a little bit difficult, but we're having a great time," Brewer says. "We're so excited. We both love a party and yeah, it's going to be fun."

"It's like we've got Bridgerton during the day and then Saltburn at night," she continues. "Yeah. It's going to be fun."

Brewer formally announced her engagement on Instagram in July 2024 alongside four black and white pictures of her and her fiancé together.

"🌷a few shots from our gorgeous day with @jennyandersonphoto in the park at 73rd (where in January @deadbeatjack proposed and then we went to Bemelmans and drank martinis and I cried a lot)," Brewer wrote in the caption. "Thank you Jenny for capturing a bit of the magic of being so madly in love with your best friend that you're gonna MARRY 'em (or maybe not if he doesn't keep his mustache. time will tell). I love you, Jack."

She teased her engagement two months prior, captioning a May 2024 Instagram post, "fries friends fiancé in my mouth." In one photo, her engagement ring could be seen on her hand. She also wore the diamond ring to a Carolina Herrera event in April 2024.

Brewer and Thompson-Roylance have been romantically linked since late 2022.

While Brewer will soon shed her oppressed handmaid's red robes for a white wedding dress, her fictional character Janine hasn't left her completely. The Handmaid's Tale role left a lasting impression on how she views the idea of having children.

"I think, strangely, and maybe this is TMI, too revealing, but Janine is a mother, I'm not. But falling in love and finding the person that I want to be with for the rest of my life has made me totally reconsider the idea of having children," Brewer tells PEOPLE. "And because I've played Janine and experienced things... Not literally, but I've experienced some of the things that she's experienced, I feel more capable of taking on more hardship."

"She's really taught me a lot," she adds. "She's made me grow up in a lot of ways."

The final season of The Handmaid's Tale premieres on Hulu on April 8. New episodes will follow weekly through May 27.
