A SHOCKING video appeared to show the moment an Indian man “came back from the dead" just before his cremation ceremony.

Kumar, from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, fell ill with a fever on Thursday and was taken to the local Rajkiya Bhagwan Das Khetan (BDK) District Hospital.

He was declared dead by physicians at BDK but his body was then moved to a deep freezer in a mortuary for around two and a half hours.

Kumar, who is deaf, mute, and lived at a shelter, had his body passed over from hospital staff to the authorities.

Jhunjhunu Police Superintendent Sharad Chouodhary said Kumar had no relatives present at the hospital.

An initial investigation revealed a postmortem was not conducted, according to The Telegraph.

Rather, doctors reportedly completed formalities on paper and sent the man straight for cremation at the local Panch Dev temple.

Kumar's body started to show signs of life as he began to breathe on the pyre during his cremation ritual ceremony.

An eyewitness, Subhash Poonia, revealed how the crowd reacted to the shocking moment.

Poonia said: "He started moving his body. We were shocked and started running away."

Kumar was then taken back to the BDK hospital where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

His condition is reported to be stable following the shock episode.

An investigation into the incident has been initiated following public criticism.

The local District Collector, Ramavtar Meena, revealed doctors Yogesh Jhkhar, Navneet Meel, and Sandeep Prachar would face disciplinary action.

Meena said: "Pending enquiry, we have suspended the three doctors for gross misconduct and dereliction of their duties."

This terrifying incident has not been the only time someone has saved themselves from death by waking up at the right time.

Thomas ‘TJ’ Hoover II from Kentucky, USA, reportedly started crying on an operating table before surgeons prepared to harvest his organs.

Hoover, 36, suffered from a drug overdose in October 2021 and was declared dead after being rushed to the Baptist Health Richmond Hospital.

He was wheeled to an operating room to test his suitability for organ donation but his sister and witnesses from the hospital allegedly saw him regain consciousness moments before these tests.
