SIX Premier League stars had to race for safety after Ghana fans went on the rampage.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey captained the Black Stars in their Africa Cup of Nations clash with Angola on Thursday.
West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus, Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey and Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo, plus Leicester duo Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu, also started the game in Kumasi.
But a stoppage-time goal from Angola sub Felicio Milson gave the visitors a 1-0 win – and sparked a riot at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Furious Ghana fans invaded the pitch, hurled bottles and other missiles onto the turf and smashed up advertising boards.
Soldiers and police with dogs had to take to the field to quell the disorder.
Meanwhile, Partey and the rest of Otto Addo’s squad took refuge in their dressing-room as the trouble unfolded.
One report said: “The crowd kicked anything in sight, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.”
A man was earlier arrested after invading the pitch during play and confronting former Crystal Palace striker Ayew.
It took a posse of stewards to wrestle the invader off the field.

Ghana’s National Sports Authority closed the Baba Yara Stadium for a month on Friday for the damage to be repaired.
The Confederation of African Football is likely to impose a hefty fine on Ghana’s FA.
The association was fined $15,000 – £11,350 – earlier this year after trouble during the Black Stars’ clash with Cape Verde.
And they received a £7,600 penalty following a pitch invasion against South Africa in 2019.
