How can you protect the suede fabric of your Ugg shoes?

According to the site, you can protect your suede Ugg shoes by spraying the fabric with the Care Ugg Protector. To clean your shoes, the brand recommends hand-washing them with cold water and a small amount of their Cleaner and Conditioner. After gently scrubbing the surface with a wet sponge, rinse the two solutions out with cold water and pack the inside of the slippers with paper to maintain their shape. Once dry, follow up with another layer of treatment spray.

The Ugg boots that seem to have been on everyone's minds — celebs and PEOPLE editors alike — are the Ultra Mini boots. (Or at least, some variation of them.)

If you're looking for an Ugg shoe that works in the warmer months, too, look no further than these comfortable platform slides. We liken this sandal to a Birkenstock slide because of its strappy design and cute buckles — plus, they both have supremely comfortable insoles. 

Our editor found that the length fit true to size, but they were slightly wide (so they're great for anyone with wider feet). However, we liked that the velcro straps were adjustable, so we could fasten them tighter around our foot to solve that fit issue. Just note that after wearing these for super long outings the suede edges of the straps started to chafe.

These boots have a chunky, waterproof rubber sole and a durable leather upper that makes them easy to wear, rain or shine. They even have an EVA footbed, which supports your arches and gradually molds to the shape of your foot for optimal comfort.

We love that these are easy to wear in all kinds of weather conditions, but we did notice that they required a break-in period and ran on the narrow side. However, if you can find your perfect fit, these are a great wardrobe staple to invest in.

While Ugg found their fame in the soft boot and slipper realm, their styles excel in the great outdoors, too. Built for the cold, these winter boots are able to protect your feet in weather as low as -25.6 degrees Fahrenheit and are almost completely waterproof — save for their ultra-comfy fleece lining, which kept our tester's feet incredibly warm and cozy, even without socks.

It's worth noting that past reviewers have made claims that these run half a size small, so consider going up a half-size before placing your order. Your snow days will never be cozier once these Ugg boots are in the mix.

Environment

Where do you plan to wear your Ugg slippers? Your answer will be instrumental in picking out the best pair for you. As we saw on this list of best-sellers, most of Ugg's slippers can be worn both indoors and outdoors, like the Tasman slippers — whereas some furrier styles, like the Scuffette II, are a bit riskier to wear out on the street. 

When you're shopping, make sure to grab a pair with a sturdy sole if you plan to wear them outdoors. However, if you'd rather your shoes serve as house shoes, any of these pairs are perfectly equipped to take on that role, as well.

Style

With the many different styles that Ugg provides, it's important to know which look you lean toward — this will make the process of choosing the right pair a bit simpler. A popular choice is anything that comes with a platform, making the Tazz a great option for trendy dressers. 

On the other hand, a person with a more minimalist style may opt for the Classic Mini II Boot — a no-frills boot that can go with just about any semi-casual outfit. Choose a shoe that blends in best with your pre-existing wardrobe, or go out of your comfort zone if you're feeling up for a challenge. You really can't go wrong with these cozy shoes.

Fur Lining

While many slippers and boots from other brands have fur lining, what separates Ugg from the rest is their use of different types of (often real animal) fur and fiber materials. Many of Ugg's slippers include sheepskin while others use a blend of upcycled wool or 100 percent recycled polyester blends. If you're someone who craves the softest fur that Ugg can provide, then you may be drawn to the sheepskin lining that many of these best-sellers contain. 

On the other hand, if you want to stay away from pure animal fur, go for Ugg slippers that are made of upcycled wool and polyester (still containing small percentages of animal fur, just not in its purest form).

We tested each shoe across a range of categories — even comparing them against heavy-duty winter boots and comfortable slides — and rated them on the following to find our winners:

• Comfort: In the varying lengths of time that we've owned our Ugg shoes — spanning months to years — we took stock of how soft, supportive, and cozy each style has been. our Ugg slippers, boots, and sandals were evaluated based on how comfortable they kept our feet in all kinds of climates and circumstances, from errand runs to long travel days. 
• Durability: The toughness of each shoe was based on everyday wear more than anything extreme (except for the winter boots, which were doused in water, hiked in, and more).
