Scheana Shay Gives Pump Rules Season 12 Update: 'Nice To Have the Summer Off'

No one knows what the future of Vanderpump Rules looks like. The show was put on pause for the summer, giving the cast time off to regroup. After all, most of the cast aren’t really friends anymore. The biggest question, if the show returns, is whether Ariana Madix will come back. I think she has other opportunities to pursue. Hello – she just killed Broadway! Plus, fans could tell that the Season 11 reunion was difficult for her. Not only did she have to talk to her ex-boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, but she found out that Scheana Shay and Lala Kent stabbed her in the back. Now Scheana is giving us an update on her summer and where Pump Rules Season 12 stands.
Scheana Shay is working on some projects ahead of any potential Pump Rules Season 12
Scheana discussed what she has been up to this summer on her podcast, Scheananigans. "There are a couple other projects I'm working on. I'm not ready to announce this yet, but it's been keeping my time pretty busy,” Scheana explained. “So busy, so it was nice to have the summer off from VPR. And obviously we're still hoping it comes back for Season 12, but stay tuned.” She added, “Don't know what's happening with that yet."
In a surprising twist, Scheana also shared that she would be “fine” if she wasn’t asked back to VPR. "I'm just grateful to the audience who tuned in over the years,” Scheana said, “who was writing that you know us sharing our stories as helped them. We might have a few stories left to tell. But if not, I feel like there are going to be so many other ways that we can continue to share our story," the singer added. Let’s not forget that Scheana and Lala recently filmed some scenes for Season 2 of The Valley.
There have been rumors that Pump Rules will film Season 12 in the fall with original cast members. But there have also been reports that cameras are filming at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant, SUR. So, could these be potential new cast members? Or is this a spinoff, including a new cast?
Even Scheana admitted that the idea of a new cast was “interesting.” She said, “Lisa Vanderpump is a genius who has created empires, so who knows? Lightning could strike twice over there." In the meantime, hopefully, we will find out what the future holds for Pump Rules and its current lineup.
