As the Los Angeles area continues to navigate devastating wildfires, some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans have found a way to drag Mauricio Umansky. For once, we don't think he deserves it.

The drama started on Instagram when Mauricio shared a post offering words of encouragement to people impacted by the fires. Somehow, people in the comments took his message as an attempt to make money for his real estate empire.

Mauricio gets slammed for his response to the fires

We've seen a handful of Bravolebrities share tone-deaf statements on social media amid the fires. We're not convinced that this is one of them.

"’I am praying for all who lost their homes. I'm praying for Los Angeles and for the winds to stop," Mauricio wrote on Instagram. "I am praying for our brave firefighters. This is so devastating myself and The Agency will do whatever we can in our power to help."

As Daily Mail pointed out, fans flooded his comments expressing their frustration with his comments. For some reason, they interpreted Mauricio's message as an advertisement for The Agency.

One person wrote, "Helping how? Charging $50 million for a house?"

Another person added, "Thoughts and prayers with LA and I don't think trying to sell houses immediately after people lost homes, memories and animals. Plus natural beauty is a great idea.’"

The critical comments continued, and some people even pointed out how The Agency has been accused of fraudulently obtaining a PPP loan. Mauricio and his lawyers have denied those claims, but the people in Mau's comments didn't let him forget it.

Of course, we know it’s easy to crack jokes about Mauricio amid his separation from Kyle Richards, but the Instagram users are going to have to save that for another day. Two days after his not-so-controversial post, The Agency shared details about how they’re helping the Los Angeles area. They opened a donation and resource center to get aid to those impacted by the fire.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
