Lindsay Hubbard Responds To Monetizing Her Pregnancy Criticism: 'Why Not?'
Lindsay Hubbard is no longer in PR but she is working thanks to her pregnancy and Summer House. Now that she is a new mom, the Bravolebrity is not functioning any differently.
The reality TV star began monetizing her pregnancy with the Clear Blue sponsorship in July. When she gave birth to her daughter Gemma, Lindsay shared a social media post about her love of Jimmy Johns sandwiches. Listen, she’s got to make money somewhere, okay?
For all that hustling, Lindsay has gotten some criticism. But the Bravolebrity is not concerned with the negativity. Nor will she stop what she is doing.
Lindsay Hubbard was always going to “make the announcement anyway”
Lindsay sat with Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast to explain using her unborn child as a money-maker. She revealed that a percentage of followers were “very torn up” about her choice to monetize her motherhood journey.
“They were like, 'I can't believe she monetized her pregnancy announcement,’" Lindsay said. "And it's like, 'Why not? I'm gonna make the announcement anyway, why not make money from it?'
"I used Clearblue, I used the digital test — that was the test I used back in April when I found out I was pregnant," she explained. "So why not go to them and say, 'Hey, I used your test, I'm about to announce my pregnancy, do you want to sponsor this?’"
That partnership was the “biggest” of her career, with $28,0000 earned just for that one promotion. Her earnings for 2024 have surpassed $100,000.
Lindsay added, "This is how I make my money. I'm not doing PR anymore, I'm not sitting behind a desk."
A few days after Gemma’s birth, Lindsay shared her image with her 700,000 followers. The carousel of pictures from the labor and delivery got a lot of social media traction.
"What a beautiful journey to finally meet our baby girl. When it was 'go time,' it felt like such an intimate, spiritual ceremony with just us — filled with so much hope and excitement for this new chapter," she captioned the post.
The Summer House star teased already planning another baby. Will she use JMY Interiors again for the nursery?
"A special thanks to our doctor and the team of nurses who took incredible care of us during our hospital stay!! Until next time…,” she wrote.
Lindsay will continue to maximize profits on her major life events. She’s just taking advantage of being a public figure after all.
Catch the Season 9 premiere of Summer House Wednesday February 12, 9/8c on Bravo.
