Gwyneth Paltrow was reportedly “mean” to her ex-boyfriend Donovan Leitch while they were dating in the 90s and took a vacation in Mexico. PEOPLE cited an excerpt from Leitch’s sister, actor Ione Skye’s memoir, “Say Everything,” which detailed a breakfast interaction with “Dono” and Paltrow that didn’t sit well with her. Skye and her then-husband, Adam Horovitz, joined the couple for their getaway because an earthquake had hit Los Angeles, and they did not want to live in fear of another one.

Ione Skye, the sister of Gwyneth Paltrow‘s ex-boyfriend Donovan Leitch, revealed an uncomfortable breakfast exchange with the star. She recalled the odd incident between Paltrow and her brother when they were dating in the 90s and detailed their Mexican vacation. After explaining why she and her then-husband Adam Horovitz joined her brother and his “intimidating new girlfriend” for the trip, Skye revealed in her memoir that the actor was snappy toward Leitch, who had been sick throughout their vacation.

The sister described one such detail when “Dono had distractedly tipped his water glass (he was one of the world's most distracted people)” at the breakfast table. Skye wrote that “a few drops had splashed Gwyneth” when she snapped at her boyfriend, calling him an “‘Idiot,’ with a laugh, but still.” The memoir’s author claimed that this particular encounter with Paltrow didn’t sit well with her and even recalled asking her brother, “Is Gwyneth always mean to you like that?”

Back then, Gwyneth Paltrow’s now-ex-boyfriend Donovan Leitch “was smitten” with her, wrote his sister in the book. Skye continued that Leitch “was 27 and looking toward the future, to marriage and kids,” but Paltrow, then 21, “wasn't ready for anything too serious.” She mentioned in the memoir that the “Iron Man” actor was fairly new to the industry back then but got “a part in Seven” just six months later and flew to Reno where she met “Brad Pitt — and we all know how that turned out.”

Additionally, Leitch’s sister cleared the air by saying that she doesn’t hold anything against Paltrow. “We were what, 21 at the time? We were so young,” she wrote in “Say Everything,” which is now out in stores.
