Captain Sandy 'Blown Away' on Wedding Day: 'The Feeling of Completeness'

Believe it or not, even Captain Sandy Yawn has a soft spot. The Below Deck Mediterranean boss just tied the knot with her Leah Shafer, and she’s enjoying marital bliss. During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, she dished out all of the warm fuzzy feelings she’s having now that she’s officially a married woman.

Captain Sandy got her happily ever after

The newlyweds first met back in 2018 via Facebook, and then last year, Captain Sandy popped the question during a “fairytale” proposal. The two finally tied the knot in May 2024 during an intimate ceremony on a yacht because, of course, they would.

The two were joined by 50 of their closest friends, some Below Deck producers, and a couple of Bravolebs, like Kate Chastain and Aesha Scott. Andy Cohen was on the invite list but couldn’t make it. He sent a “generous” gift instead. Now that things have settled down from the big hurrah, Captain Sandy said she’s experiencing a sense of fullness she’s never experienced.

“I was blown away,” Captain Sandy said, before revealing that Leah did all of the wedding planning. Sandy said she just kind of “showed up,” which is on brand for her. Then, she started gushing about all of the big feelings she’s been having now that she’s a wife.

“The feeling of completeness,” Sandy gushed to Andy. “I just have never felt that.”

We love that Sandy is feeling complete. Even for those of us secretly holding a grudge for Hannah Ferrier, you have to admit that it’s cute seeing Sandy happy. Everyone deserves to find their person.
