Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands has had a busy year as she balances attending royal engagements with studying for her Bachelor of Science in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics at the University of Amsterdam. While Princess Amalia is one of the more reserved European heirs, she is firmly establishing her own elegant sense of style.
Marchesa Notte Taffeta Ball Gown, Amsterdam (April 2024)
The Princess of Orange joined her parents when King Felipe and Queen Letizia officially visited in April. Princess Amalia has a particularly close relationship with Felipe and Letizia, as she spent much of 2023 living in Madrid for security reasons.
With blue the theme of the evening for all of the Dutch and Spanish royal women, Amalia's choice of a navy Marchesa gown was perfect. This gown features an off-the shoulder neckline and full skirt. The princess also put her own slant on the look with a delicate overlay on the shoulders and decolletage.
Zara Double-Breasted Blazer with Pockets, Paris (July 2024)
Princess Amalia has joined the likes of the Princess of Wales and Crown Princess Victoria by grabbing her own Zara blazer. The Spanish fashion company's structured blazers are popular with royal women for day engagements and the Dutch heir has made the look her own.
The princess paired the bright blue blazer with the official Fila TeamNL t-shirt for the Paris Olympics. While many royals were kitted out in their nation's uniforms for the Olympics and Paralympics, Amalia made her Olympic look her own. She finished her outfit with her favourite pair of trainers, the Autry Medalist Low Sneakers.
Safiyaa Sarita Gown, The Hague (September 2024)
The Princess of Orange attended Prinsjesdag in September with her parents, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, and her sister, Princess Alexia. As this is a formal day event, the women attend wearing gowns.
Princess Amalia wore the Sarita Gown from Safiyaa, a striking dress in a deep green with floor-length sleeves and a cut-out detail on the decolletage. The gown was a riskier choice than she normally makes, but it was a great choice. She paired it with a gold beaded headband, a gold clutch handbag, and gold Stuart Weitzman sandals.
