The best royal fashion moments of December

December is almost like two distinct months for working royals. While they are typically relaxing and spending time with their families like we are from the 24th on, they tend to be exceptionally busy in the first half of the month. Their busy schedules mean that there are many fashion moments to choose for our best royal looks of December.
Queen Mary of Denmark's Alberta Ferretti suit
We often see festive colour choices in December with red and green variations everywhere. Queen Mary of Denmark's green Alberta Ferretti suit and blouse on 15 December perfectly hit the holiday theme when she visited the DR Girls Choir's Christmas concert.
The single breasted suit is elevated by the satin lapels and the pussy-bow detail on the blouse adds a fun element to her look.
Princess Madeleine of Sweden's Fadi El Khoury gown
While the women of the Swedish Royal Family all look spectacular each December for the Nobel Prize ceremony, Princess Madeleine's stunning gown from Fadi El Khoury was one of her best ever.
The off-the-shoulder gown features a wide train and both the gown and train were intricately hand-embroidered with crystals and sequins. And not only was the gown itself gorgeous, she paired it with the beautiful Connaught Diamond Tiara, a tiara that has been in the family for over a century.
Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherland's Tadashi Shoji gown
Although she only attended her first State Dinner in April of this year, the heir to the Dutch throne has become a pro at these glamorous state events.
For the Portuguese State Dinner, Princess Amalia wore a bright lavender sequined gown from Tadashi Shoji. The gown has floor length cape sleeves, a detail that is quickly becoming one of Amalia's trademarks. And her sparkling gown was complimented perfectly by the Dutch Star Tiara. Not only did her mother, Queen Maxima, wear it on her wedding day, her grandmother, the former Queen Beatrix, wore it for her inauguration in 1980.
