Prince William has a new glittering royal patronage he will be sharing with another royal, His Highness Theyazin bin Haitham, heir to the Omani throne.

The two princes will be co-patrons of the "Jewel of Arabia Expedition".

The project is to help promote and highlight British-Omani connections.

The goal of the expedition is to raise youth awareness of Oman's biodiversity and natural heritage, fitting well with the Prince of Wales' current projects, including Earthshot.

Prince William will be at the London launch of the exhibition on 25 November at the Royal Geographical Society. He will also be attending a second event in January in Oman.

At the two events, the two princes will be able to view artefacts and historic maps from the original 1928 expedition.

Beginning on 6 January, British field guide Mark Evan will lead the 30 day expedition travelling by foot, 4×4, and camel. It will be following Bertram Thomas's original expedition while focusing on Oman's move towards a green and sustainable future.

This will not be Prince William's first trip to Oman. He visited in 2019 where he focused on sustainable work.
