Lady Frederick Windsor, daughter-in-law to Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, has revealed that she has been taking etiquette lessons.

The 44-year-old, who is known professionally as Sophie Winkleman, is undergoing the lessons ahead of a new acting role.

Despite being married into The Royal Family, Sophie has still decided to take lessons ahead of her role as Lady Rochester in Julian Fellowes’s period drama Belgravia: The Next Chapter.

According to Richard Eden’s column in the Daily Mail, Sophie is seeking advice on the intricacies of the role from from ITV’s historical advisor, Alastair Bruce.

Sophie told the Mail: “I’ve asked him questions every single day, from how do you pick up that stem, how do you lay your knife and fork in between eating, everything.

“I find it’s such a joy and luxury to have someone like that on set every day.”

Lady Frederick is the half sister to television presenter Claudia Winkleman, and has enjoyed a highly successful career on TV screens.

One of her best known roles is that of Big Suze in Peep Show, with the actress also appearing in productions including Death In Paradise and Waking The Dead.

After studying at Cambridge, Sophie married Lord Frederick Windsor, son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, in 2009 at Hampton Court Palace. They have two daughters, Maud (born in 2013), and Isabella (born in 2016).
