With the holiday season here, palaces and tourist destinations are celebrating far and wide. And the ultimate symbol of Tudor royalty, Hampton Court Palace, has its Festive Fayre.

The Fayre allows visitors to enjoy a food wonderland! There will be a number of artisan food and drink vendors to pick from. While people soak in the atmosphere, they can also have some family fun, enjoy live music, and do some seasonal shopping. The Fayre runs on the weekend of December 13th. It’s included with general palace admission.

If that wasn’t enough holiday cheer, there is also a Tudor Christmas cookery event. Ticketholders will get to experience Tudor cookery in Henry VIII’s kitchen, where they’ll discover beef roasting as they warm by a fire. The foods follow original recipes, and original techniques to recreate the historic foods enjoyed during Henry VIII’s reign. Despite its age, the fire in the kitchen is real amid modern kitchen elements. The cooking event is held daily from 21 December to 5 January (excluding 24-26th.) This affair is also included in palace admission.

Lastly, amid the backdrop of Henry VIII”s historic home, visitors can glide around an ice skating rink that is up until 5 January. Skaters can twirl, spin (or tumble) across the open-air rink located right in front of the palace. Unlike the Fayre and Tudor cooking, the skating rink does cost money. Tickets for adults are from  £18 while tickets for kids three through 8 start from  £13.
