The Danish Royal Family celebrated one of the most important events on their royal calendar on New Year’s Day with a glittering gala which means they start every January decked in diamonds and with plenty of sparkle.

Held on 1 January each year, the Danish monarch welcomes the government, the speaker, the royal court, and Danish diplomats to Amalienborg Palace for a formal dinner. And the first New Year's banquet of King Frederik and Queen Mary's reign had more than enough sparkle!

The beautiful bow-style earrings have two square emeralds, two rectangular emeralds, and an emerald drop, as well as several round diamonds.
