Trickshot To Be The "Hawkeye" S2 Villain?

During production on the first season of Marvel Studio’s “Hawkeye,” rumours swirled that Clint Barton’s older brother Barney, a.k.a. Trickshot, would appear.

It didn’t happen, the series instead opting to put Alaqua Cox’s Maya Lopez as the villain who is ultimately working for Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin.

Now, scooper Daniel Richtman is reporting that Marvel Studios has come back around to bringing in Barney for the second season of “Hawkeye” and have gone as far as making an offer to an A-list actor to play him.

The report indicates Trickshot would likely serve as the primary antagonist of the season, and then could factor into “multiple projects” going forward. Officially there is still no word on a second season of “Hawkeye” so rumors are still very much that at this point.

In the world of Marvel Comics, Charles “Barney” Barton fell out with his brother after the pair escaped their abusive stepfather and Clint became the protege of Jacques DuQuesne. Barney would go on to the army and FBI, before turning to crime and becoming Trickshot.

DuQuesne was introduced in the show’s first season but Barton was unfamiliar with him.
