The Better Sister Release Date Set for Jessica Biel & Elizabeth Banks Prime Video Show

Prime Video has announced The Better Sister release date for the upcoming series adaptation of Alafair Burke’s 2019 novel of the same name. The thriller drama will be led by Emmy nominees Jessica Biel (Candy) and Elizabeth Banks (Modern Family), who are set to play estranged sisters Chloe and Nicky, respectively.
“The series follows the terrible things that drive sisters apart and ultimately bring them back together. Chloe, a high-profile media executive, lives a picturesque life with her handsome lawyer husband Adam and teenage son Ethan by her side while her estranged sister Nicky struggles to make ends meet and stay clean,” reads the official synopsis. “When Adam is brutally murdered, the prime suspect sends shockwaves through the family, reuniting the two sisters, as they try to untangle a complicated family history to discover the truth behind his death.”
When is The Better Sister release date?
The Better Sister is scheduled to premiere on May 29, 2025, exclusively on Prime Video. The cast will also feature Corey Stoll as Adam Macintosh, Kim Dickens as Detective Nancy Guidry, Maxwell Acee Donovan as Ethan Macintosh, Bobby Naderi as Detective Matt Bowen, Gabriel Sloyer as Jake Rodriguez, Gloria Reuben as Michelle Sanders, with Matthew Modine as Bill Braddock, and Lorraine Toussaint as Catherine Lancaster.
Described as an “enticing thriller full of twists and turns,” the series is executive produced by showrunners Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado, with acclaimed filmmaker Craig Gillespie directing. In addition to leading the cast, Biel and Banks are also executive producing alongside Gillespie, Annie Marter, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Alissa Bachner and Michelle Purple. It is a production by Tomorrow Studios, Amazon MGM Studios, and Fortunate Jack Productions.
