Orlando Bloom Joins “Gran Turismo” Film

Orlando Bloom has joined the cast of the Neill Blomkamp-directed feature adaptation of the best-selling racing video game series “Gran Turismo” at Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions. Jason Hall (“American Sniper”) and Zach Baylin (“King Richard) are penning the true story project dubbed the ultimate wish-fulfilment tale. The story follows a teenage Gran Turismo player (Archie Madekwe) whose gaming skills won him a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional racecar driver. Bloom will play a marketing executive selling the sport of motor racing – and just may believe in its art, too. He joins a cast that also includes David Harbour as a retired car driver who becomes the teen’s mentor. Shooting begins next week in Europe. Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, Doug Belgrad and Dana Brunetti are producing with the film to open on August 11th 2023.
