As such, the incident involving Garret resulted in much ruckus in the Cleveland camp. But how did the NFL veteran end up hurting himself?
Here’s everything you need to know regarding the Texas-born athlete’s latest ailment.
How did Myles Garret get injured?
Myles Garret suffered from an eye injury during the Browns’ 7-21 defeat vs the Chiefs.
The episode took place in the dying embers of the second quarter of the said match. While attempting to get close to the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, Garret ended up clashing with opposing left tackle Joe Thuney. The latter inadvertently poked Myles Garret in the eye during the scuffle, resulting in an injury scare. Immediately after receiving the blow, the 28-year-old footballer took his helmet off before falling to the ground.
Sensing Myles Garret’s injury, Mahomes signaled the Browns dugout to take action. Garret was taken off the field in the aftermath of the clash. Nevertheless, he surprisingly returned to the pitch a short while later with a visor attached to his helmet.
When will Myles Garret return to play for NFL?
Despite the injury scare, Myles Garret was able to take the field after receiving some treatment on the sidelines. As such, he is not expected to miss out on any of the Browns’ upcoming fixtures.
Talking to reporters after the conclusion of the game, Myles Garret shed more light on his supposed eye injury. He explained, “It hurt a lot, but I was thinking I might not be able to see at all because I have LASIK, and that’s why I wear the visor,” as per The Mirror US. Garret also added, “Going to the doctor tomorrow, see if there’s anything else that we didn’t see initially. But I’m at the moment just in pain."
The defensive end has since explained that there is no bad blood between him and Thuney and that the latter even apologized to him on multiple occasions.
