Game show fans want to know more about the Jeopardy Masters 2025 (Season 3), particularly the tournament dates and list of contestants. Now that this year’s Jeopardy Invitational Tournament is over (spoilers ahead on the winner), we know more about which six players will be a part of the prestigious tournament this year. Will reigning champ Victoria Groce win over James Holzhauer again? Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming season for the prestigious Jeopardy Masters.
What is the Jeopardy Masters 2025 schedule and dates?
[Update] As predicted, the Jeopardy Masters 2025 tournament will begin on April 30, with the first one-hour episode to be released at 9:00 PM EDT.
The exact game-by-game schedule for Jeopardy Masters 2025 has not been released yet, but the official press release says that the series will air every Wednesday, which is vastly different than the 2024 Jeopardy Masters tournament schedule. If this holds, we expect the full season to have the following dates:
- Episode 1 – April 30 (Games 1 & 2)
- Episode 2 – May 7 (Games 3 & 4)
- Episode 3 – May 14 (Games 5 & 6)
- Episode 4 – May 21 (Games 7 & 8)
- Episode 5 – May 28 (Games 9 & 10)
- Episode 6 – June 4 (Games 11 & 12)
It should be noted that there might be more episodes after this. We will update this schedule once we know more about the brackets and how this year’s tournament with nine contestants (instead of the usual six) will work.
Interestingly, James Holzhauer will not be part of the contestant lineup this year, though returning champion Victoria Groce will be returning. Other notable competitors include 2024 Masters finalist Yogesh Raut, the 2025 Jeopardy Invitational Tournament (JIT) champion Matt Amodio, and 2025 Tournament of Champions (TOC) winner Neilesh Vinjamuri.
Brad Rutter, who fans will recognize as one of the competitors in the Jeopardy GOAT tournament in 2020, has taken the producer’s pick. Filling out the roster will be JIT finalists Roger Craig and Juveria Zaheer, along with TOC finalists Isaac Hirsch and Adriana Harmeyer.
Each of the nine contestants will compete “in two action-packed games per hourlong episode for the grand prize of $500,000.”
The premiere episode will air after the long-awaited return of Pat Sajak to Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.
[Original] The schedule for Jeopardy Masters 2025 is expected to start some time in late April or May.
The show has yet to announce the official dates and the contestants for the show, but given that the first two seasons of the Jeopardy Masters tournaments for 2023 and 2024 took place in May, Season 3 shouldn’t be far off that mark. With the JIT tournament decided, we should have about a month or two of regular Jeopardy play before the Masters tournament begins.
The 2025 version of the show should follow last year’s Jeopardy Masters schedule, which had nine episodes that took place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from May 1 to May 22. Each episode was one hour in length and included two games. The first six quarterfinals episodes and four subsequent semifinal matches featured a round-robin system where contestants earned 3 points for winning a game and 1 point for placing second. The finals then totaled the scores over two games to determine the ultimate winner, who was Victoria Groce.

Like prior Jeopardy Masters tournaments, the top 3 finalists from last year’s outing as well as the winners of ToC and JIT should be invited automatically.
The last spot is a wildcard, which could potentially go to Mattea Roach or Amy Schneider given their participation last year, though Schneider was knocked out early in the JIT quarterfinals. It may also be given to Roger Craig or Juveria Zaheer, who were the other finalists for JIT.
