“Fargo” and “Legion” creator Noah Hawley says his upcoming “Alien: Earth” series aims to make the franchise’s xenomorphs scary again.

The series begins when a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth and a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat.

Set decades before the events of “Alien,” the series will retain that film’s retrofuturistic aesthetic but will make some tweaks to the original creature design.

Don’t worry though, he tells Deadline that they are staying with the overall silhouette:

“That is truly chilling to think of it moving here among us, and so I can't tell you under what circumstances you'll see that, but you'll see it – -and you're going to lock your door that night.

What was really fun for me was to really engage with the creature, bring some of my own thoughts to the design while not touching the silhouette, because that's sacrosanct. But some of the elements as we know, whatever the host is, informs what the final creature is. I just wanted to play around a little bit to make it as scary as it should be.”

Filming has already wrapped on the first season with Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Timothy Olyphant, Kit Young, Adarsh Gourav, David Rysdahl, Babou Ceesay, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, Sandra Yi Sencindiver and Moe Bar-El co-starring.

“Alien: Earth” is slated to premiere sometime in 2025.
