Here are all the characters who left the show this year:

Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton)

Dr. Hamilton experienced the loss of his father, Gregory, prompting him to leave Port Charles and start life anew at Doctors Without Borders. He has taken his time off to come to terms with grief and heal thoroughly. While his character’s return is possible in the future, Easton has officially bid adieu to the show. He expressed his gratitude and cited that he left the show to pursue new opportunities.

Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl)

Esme faced a tragic fate after her physical altercation with her nemesis, Trina. This led to her and Spencer falling off the private yacht. Upon searching, their bodies weren’t found and Esme was allegedly presumed dead. Given that her storyline was put on hold with this shocking twist, she didn’t return to the hit soap opera. However, in the future, she might come back as she isn’t confirmed dead. But, for now, it can be said she is leaving the show.

 Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco)

Monaco’s exit came as a shock to many and her future return also seems unlikely, given her character has died in the show. Earlier, she became convinced to give a part of her liver to revive Lulu Spencer. While their transplant surgery was successful, a shocking twist changed everything. Sam McCall suffered a heart attack, closing off her story arc. Her being written off was the show makers’ creative decision.

Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison)

Chase was written off permanently as he died of heart failure.
