Ben Stiller To Lead Green's "Nutcrackers"

Emmy-winning actor/filmmaker Ben Stiller has set his first lead film role in six years, scoring the main role in filmmaker David Gordon Green’s next film “Nutcrackers” which is currently filming in Ohio.

Stiller plays Mike, a workaholic who must reluctantly travel to rural Ohio to look after his four rambunctious nephews after their parents die in a car accident.

What starts out as a three-day trip to find foster care turns into weeks of farm-life mayhem – and the realization they have found a home for him and not the other way around.

Leland Douglas (“Call of the Wild”) penned the script and Stiller is producing alongside Rob Paris, Mike Witherill, John Lesher and Nate Meyer. Rivulet is financing.

Stiller has mostly been behind the camera in recent years, his last major role in a film being Noah Baumbach’s Netflix family drama “The Meyerowitz Stories” – though he did cameo in both “Bros” and “Hubie Halloween”.

Other recent work has included directing and executive producing the workplace thriller “Severance” for Apple TV+ along with helming the Showtime limited series “Escape at Dannemora”.
