Why Vince Gill Laughs at 'Uptight' Fans Getting Angry About Taylor Swift Attending Travis Kelce's Games

Seeing Taylor Swift at NFL games isn't an issue for Vince Gill.

While some football fans have felt quite bothered by Swift's attendance at her boyfriend Travis Kelce's games since they went public with their romance in October 2023, Gill shared his thoughts on the matter in a new interview with the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

"She's awesome. I'm crazy about her," said Gill of Swift, recalling a time when they performed together on stage. "I did the CMA Awards with her one year. Myself and Alison Krauss and some other folks did an acoustic version of her song, 'Red.'"

The country singer-songwriter continued, "I've always been crazy about her, and I just laugh when everybody gets so uptight when she goes to football games."

Comparing Swift to Dolly Parton, Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson, Gill noted, "There's just a handful of people that they have that charisma, that thing. They own a room. Dolly Parton, she owns a room. It's fascinating to watch. I'm a wallflower."

Gill said he was recently asked his thoughts on Swift and her attendance at Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs games by someone in his life, recalling to the outlet: "I said 'Hell, they don't cut away to her as much as they do Jerry Jones at the Dallas Cowboys games — what's the big deal?'" [Jones is the Cowboys' owner, president and general manager.]

"Somebody said they figured it out on one of the games, ands he was only on camera the entire game for 44 seconds — in a three-and-a-half hour ballgame," he said. "You're uptight about that? Really? You know, I don't get it."

"The scrutiny that that much popularity is under is staggering," added Gill.

He later declared, "It's just a girl that likes a guy, and they're going to a ballgame."

Last month, Swift attended Super Bowl LIX, where the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. Since then, she and Kelce embarked on a trip to Park City, Utah, and they were recently spotted out to dinner at Del Frisco's Grille in New York City.
