TV hardman Danny Dyer is covered in blood as he throttles his co-star on the set of comedy Mr Bigstuff.
It follows a carpet salesman who has to cope with the sudden arrival of his wayward brother Lee, played by Danny.
The show, released earlier this year on Sky Max, has been greenlit for a second season.
Danny said he wanted to take on a new role that's “a bit leftfield” and that's exactly what he did.
His recent role couldn't be further from his EastEnders character, Mick Carter.
Danny is seen covered in fake blood during one dramatic scene, as he uses the handle of a yellow hammer to choke a man.
The former Walford legend was captured on set in Canvey Island with actor Ned Dennehy, appearing to strangle is co-star.
A first look at the dark comedy’s second series show him in a violent outburst, while donning a brown leather coat.
Excited Essex locals have been watching on as Danny filmed around the island throughout the week.
Speaking about his roles since leaving EastEnders, Danny told Virgin Radio: "I've been very busy.
"I've had a great couple of years since I've left, thank you very much.
"It's been great for me. I'm trying some different stuff. It's about what I say no to now. And I want to try to do some different stuff."
He added: "I want to explore myself as an actor.
"And I'm 47 now, and I just want to try things that are a bit leftfield and a little bit out there."
The first series of Mr Bigstuff premiered in July to rave reviews.
IT also stars Plebs actor Ryan Sampson who wrote the series and who plays Danny’s brother Glen.
Glen is a nervy perfectionist and carpet salesman striving to live a suburban ideal, while Lee is described as "an alpha male with a prescription drug addiction and a tin full of their dad's ashes."
"This show is crazy, mad and absolutely funny, I was really not expecting it," one fan praised on X, formerly Twitter.
Another viewer revealed that they were hooked after the first episode, writing: "So funny this. What a brilliant pairing these 2 are. Think I'll be bingeing it."
His legendary Brit movie is also getting a sequel – 25 YEARS after original film.
Danny made his film debut playing dealer Moff in the controversial coming-of-age drama Human Traffic.
