Stevie Wonder's Family Lists L.A. Home Where Artist's Kids Grew Up for $15 Million

The 11,120-square-foot home is being listed for $15 million, or the option to lease for $65,000 per month

Stevie Wonder's sons Kailand and Mandla are saying goodbye to their childhood home in Calabasas, Calif. 

The musician's second wife, Kai Millard, has listed the six-bedroom property where their sons, Kailand, 19, and Mandla, 23, grew up. The former couple divorced in 2012.

Millard, 45, listed the 11,120-square-foot home for $15 million, or the option to lease for $65,000 monthly. The fully remodeled estate has six bedrooms and six bathrooms, is in a gated community in the San Fernando Valley, and spans 2.779 acres.

The home has a chef's kitchen with a book-matched marble island, chevron parquet wood floors, top-of-the-line Miele appliances and Sub-Zero refrigerators. It also features a wine storage area and bar.

The junior primary suite includes a private living room and an en-suite bathroom. The primary suite offers a two-sitting area with a dual-sided fireplace, a private balcony of the backyard, elegant chandeliers and a walk-in closet. The primary bathroom includes a walk-in shower and steam room and a brand-new infrared sauna.

Meanwhile, the upstairs office includes a marble fireplace and a grand chandelier wrapped in gold leaf. 

The lower level of the home also includes a butler's kitchen, a guest bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a large living room with direct access to a piano entertainment room.

The entertainment room leads to the sprawling backyard — which has a custom pool and landscaped gardens — providing the chance for indoor-outdoor entertaining.

According to the Wall Street Journal, property records show that the former couple paid $2.85 million for the modern Mediterranean-style home in 2000.

"It just had this incredible, timeless architecture and breathtaking surroundings," Millard said, per WSJ. "It was on its own little hill and had lots of space."

"As a young bride and a mother, I had no interest in doing anything to the house," Millard said of the idea of renovating the home when they first purchased it. "I had to let them be kids. They're going to mark the wall, put fingerprints everywhere. Just forget about it."

However, once her sons got older, she decided to upgrade the property during the COVID-19 pandemic. She spent at least $3 million remodeling the primary suite and the kitchen and opening it up to the rest of the living space.

"I feel like this is the right time to venture out into a new space," she said, per WSJ.
