Police in Indiana are still searching for the 14-year-old son of former NFL player Daniel Muir.

Indiana State Police said in a press release Muir's son Bryson was last seen on Sunday, June 16, leaving a family member's home in Ohio with his mother Kristen.

Police said shortly after leaving the home, officers with the Garfield Heights Police Department pulled over his mother, but Bryson was not inside the vehicle.

Two days later, investigators were asked by the Cass County Department of Child Services to investigate "allegations of domestic battery" to Bryson, according to the release.

The alleged abuse is suspected to have occured in the teen's home in Logansport, about 80 miles north of Indianapolis. State police said the property is owned by the Servant Leader's Foundation.

Investigators visited the home and communicated with Daniel, a former defensive lineman with the Indianapolis Colts, and his wife, who began to "show signs of cooperation," state police said. The couple agreed to bring Bryson to meet with investigators on Friday, June 28 but "backed out of that arrangement, which signaled an unwillingness to cooperate," per state police.

Indiana State Police issued a statewide Silver Alert for Bryson that same day. Along with the alert, state police released a photo of the teen with a swollen eye. Bryson is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing an orange Under Armor shirt and blue jeans.

"He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance," the alert reads.

Daniel and Kristin Muir could not be reached for comment. Daniel is listed as a preacher at StraitwayTruth Ministries. When the ministry was reached by phone, an unidentified woman on the line told PEOPLE, "Our attorney said we aren't authorized to answer any questions at this time."

Anyone with information about Bryson's disappearance is asked to call either the Indiana State Police Peru Post at 800-382-0689 or 911.
