Selena Gomez is reflecting on when she feels the "most beautiful."

While speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at her Rare Impact Fund Benefit, which was held at nya Studios West in Los Angeles, on Thursday, Oct. 24, the singer, 32, said she feels prettiest when she's around her loved ones at the start of the day.

"I feel most beautiful when I wake up. Because I get to wake up to my sister [Gracie] or I get to wake up to my grandparents," she tells PEOPLE. "Any of that just makes me feel pretty."

Gomez dressed to impress for her appearance at the annual fundraiser, looking stunning in a black one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress featuring a ruched middle and an asymmetrical skirt.

She teamed the glam get-up with a pair of pointed black heels, a wavy down 'do, some smoky eye makeup and a nude lip.

While giving a speech at the event — which is held to "raise awareness and funds in support of youth mental health globally," per the website — Gomez said her "ultimate dream has always been to help people."

Making sure to thank those in attendance, the Emilia Pérez star admitted she was "honored" to be there. "I'm a bit overwhelmed, but I'm excited," she told the crowd.

"We all deserve support if and when we need it, no matter who we are. I believe connection matters and I'm here to be a voice for those who maybe don't have one or for those who don't feel like they have one," she said.

"I'm here to reflect the young people who reach out to me every single day and trust me with their truth. Their love and devotion has completely helped me in my darkest moments, and for that I'll always be in debt to them, and I want to just do everything I can," the Only Murders in the Building star added.

Gomez, who has been open about her own mental health journey through the years, said: "I say every day, I'm a work in progress. Every day, I try to do my best, I try to do what I think is right for me, and that's all I can ask of all of you."

"So I again want to thank you so much for helping one of my wildest dreams come true," she shared.

Gomez started the Rare Impact Fund as the philanthropic arm of her behemoth Rare Beauty brand, and 1 percent of all Rare Beauty sales are donated to the mental health organization.

Earlier this month, Gomez teamed up with Sephora for the Make a Rare Impact campaign in honor of World Mental Health Day on Oct. 10.

For the second year in a row, the company donated 100 percent of all Rare Beauty product sales (in store, online and at Sephora at Kohl's) that day to Gomez's Rare Impact Fund.
