The first rule of garden club is don't talk about garden club.

PEOPLE has the exclusive first look at NBC's brand new series, Grosse Pointe Garden Society, which follows four members of a "suburban garden club who find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief and a shared secret – a murder no one wants to talk about," per the series' official logline.

"As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above," the logline continues.

The drama, created by Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, stars AnnaSophia Robb, Melissa Fumero, Ben Rappaport and Aja Naomi King in thrilling new roles.

"Here's what they don't tell you when you join a garden club," Alice (Robb) says over shots of a picturesque garden in the trailer. "To make a garden grow, something has to die."

As shovels plunge into the cold hard ground, the scene shifts to a dead body wrapped in a quilt. Catherine (King), Brett (Rappaport), Birdie (Fumero) and Alice stand over the hole they've created with horrified looks on their faces.

"I can't believe we're burying a body," Catherine says in shock.

Things only escalate from there. The trailer eventually moves to a shot of the foursome committing arson. Brett instructs the women to leave a car's windows open as he pours lighter fluid on the seats. As they step back, they light the vehicle ablaze.

Though the group now seems to be out of harm's way, each of garden club member's lives come with their own set of problems.

"I think I have an image problem," Birdie sighs while out to lunch with a friend. After chugging a glass of wine, she goes behind the wheel of the car and crashes into a fountain.

With a secret that carries more weight than gold, when the details of their murder threaten to reveal themselves, things take a turn for the worse.

"I don't think she gets the first rule of garden club," Brett says as Catherine adds, "It's very 007."
