Ryan Reynolds Calls Nickelback 'One of the Greatest Bands' While Revealing "Deadpool & Wolverine" Deleted Scene

On Thursday, Nov. 14, the Vancouver native, 48, posted on Instagram a deleted scene from his hit movie Deadpool & Wolverine. Nickelback's 2008 song "Never Gonna Be Alone" plays over part of the clip.
"Siri, find deleted, half baked montage featuring one of the greatest bands on earth and Hugh totally nailing his four words of dialogue," Reynolds wrote in the caption, referring to Nickelback and his costar, Hugh Jackman. "And do it quickly because it'll probably be taken down for so many reasons."
The clip features Deadpool and Wolverine walking across a vast landscape while Deadpool chatters on before Wolverine pushes him to the ground and tells him, "F--- off." Deadpool then starts speaking in an Australian accent while saying "Time Ripper" — the device from the movie used to kill off timelines.

This is not the first time Reynolds has expressed an affinity for the band — whose members include Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and Daniel Adair — known for hits like "How You Remind Me," "Rockstar" and "Photograph."

When Fred Savage (reprising his role from The Princess Bride) pokes fun at Nickelback, Deadpool shoots back: "I've had it with all this Nickelback hating, all right? You think that makes you cool with the cool kids in school, Fred?"
He then rattles off a series of statistics and accomplishments showing their popularity.

Five years later in 2023, Reynolds taped a video message for the group's induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys.
"There are millions of reasons to be a proud Canadian, and tonight, the Junos and Canada are coming together to celebrate one of them: homegrown talent from right here in Alberta, Joni Mitchell!" Reynolds joked. "Wait, Nickelback? I love Nickelback! Wasn't Joni Mitchell in Nickelback?"
