"RHONJ'"s Jennifer Aydin Draws Criticism for Rant Against '80-Year-Old' Employee and 'Loser' Customer at Jersey Mike's

Aydin documented a New Year's exchange at a Jersey Mike's on her Instagram Stories

Jennifer Aydin has prompted criticism from fans this week after detailing an encounter with an "80-year-old" employee at Jersey Mike's and a "loser" customer who told her she was being "ridiculous" in line for adding another sandwich to her order.

On Wednesday, Jan. 1, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 47, reflected on a back-and-forth that took place at the sandwich chain while filming herself walking through an airport in a since-expired Instagram Stories video.

In the clip, later shared by a fan account on TikTok, the reality star said she was "so mad" after waiting in line at a Jersey Mike's for "what felt like forever" on the holiday.

"When it came time to take our order, they took our order. And then they took the lady's order that was after me, but they fulfilled her order first somehow. Made us wait. Okay, whatever," Aydin said in the clip.

"And the 80-year-old that was working there, the amount of times that she took to cut that bread was almost as much as we were waiting [in] that line, jeez. Oh my God. Everything was slow. We're not complaining, we get it. It's early in the morning. You're in a bad mood. It's New Year's, you're working. I'd be pissed, too."

After Aydin said she felt the employee acted like she "couldn't hear" her, she revealed she tried to add an additional sandwich to her order for her son, Jacob. She shares her five children — Justin, Gabby, Olivia, Christian, and Jacob — with husband Bill Aydin.

"As she's making my sandwich, I added a tuna sandwich for Jacob, and she's like, 'You're gonna have to wait [in] line again.' And I was like, 'Are you kidding me?'"

"And I asked the guy behind me, 'Do you care if I just add a turkey sandwich for my son?' He's like, 'I mean, it's kind of ridiculous.'"

Aydin then called the fellow customer a "freaking jerk" in the video. She noted that she also recorded the encounter, and that the man claimed he'd sue her and accused her of having "fake diamonds."

"Please, that loser," Aydin said of the man behind her in line. "Find me, a------."

In the clip of the exchange itself, Aydin could be heard arguing with the customer, the man accused her of having fake jewelry and she apparently told another person in line that she's a "celebrity" after some additional remarks.

A rep for Aydin did not have a comment when reached on Thursday.

Jersey Mike's did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Since her post, multiple fans have expressed their thoughts on Aydin's Jersey Mike's experience, with one TikTok commenter questioning why she "made fun of an elderly person" and another calling her "so disrespectful."

Commenters have also expressed their frustrations with her under her recent Instagram posts, with others again pointing out how she was "talking poorly about an elderly woman."

"I am horrified at what I just saw in your stories," one commenter wrote.

Earlier on Thursday, Aydin shared a clip to her Instagram Stories of Taylor Swift performing "You're on Your Own, Kid," writing: "Her words speak to me. Hear them!"
