Matters have been made worse by the fact that he and his partner Sonia have been going through IVF treatment in a bid to have a baby together.

The treatment is far from cheap, and it’s becoming more and more difficult for Reiss to find the money to contribute to funding their dream.

He started to use his comatose wife Debbie’s money instead, and in upcoming EastEnders episodes, his decision comes back to haunt him.

In the scenes, Sonia is nervous as she heads in for her embryo transfer.

Meanwhile, Reiss takes a call saying Debbie's care fees are three months overdue.

Reiss' stress levels are sky high as he looks at an £18,000 bill for Debbie's care fees.

Behind Sonia's back, he decides to rent the spare room to generate cash, but she catches him and isn't happy.

Reiss opens up about his money worries and Sonia reasons they'll find a way but will not be getting a lodger.

However, Reiss is thrown a lifeline when Sharon offers him some work chasing her outstanding invoices.

Later in the week, Reiss decides to use some creative accounting to line his pockets while calling in the money Sharon's owed.

He feels terrible when Sharon gives him his pay, plus a bit extra for doing the job at short notice.

At home, Reiss lies to Sonia that he has enough to pay Debbie's care fees.

Will she find out about his latest deception?
