THE brand new PS5 Pro has had its price dropped in the UK just a week after going on sale.
Sony‘s recommended retail price for the latest console is a whooping £700.
PS5 Pro was released on November 7[/caption] Argos is thought to be the first major retailer to reduce the console[/caption]But Argos has quietly discounted the PS5 Pro without even marking it as on offer.
It’s thought that the store may be the first UK retailer to cut the price.
The PS5 Pro is the first major upgrade to the hugely popular console since it was released four years ago, in November 2020.
A new slim version was put out last year but this year’s PS5 Pro beefs up the device.
Sony claims the PS5 Pro has the “most impressive visuals ever possible on a PlayStation console”.
Things like advanced ray tracing improve reflection and shadow visuals.
The PS5 Pro is said to have super sharp image clarity using AI-enhanced resolution for 4K TV too.
Frame rate has been upped too, so gamers can enjoy even smoother gameplay when using advanced 60Hz and 120Hz displays.
The Pro is digital-only and packs 2TB of storage space for your games.
Argos’ deal comes hot on the heels of Black Friday where shoppers are hoping more discounts could be on the way soon.
But this first price cut takes £40 off – meaning the PS5 Pro costs £659.99.
Some argue the new console still costs too much but it’s a nice little saving for anyone strongly considering the PS5 Pro.
The Sun reviewer Georgina Young said the PS5 Pro is probably “not worth it for most”.
“The vast majority of players won't notice the difference that the upgraded PS5 brings,” Georgina writes.
