Six degrees of Sexiest Man Alive! The former 'Office' star is connected to plenty of SMAs past

Even before joining their ranks, it turns out John Krasinski was already extremely Sexiest Man Alive-adjacent.

Now that he's been crowned this year's Sexiest Man Alive, we looked back at how familiar The Office alum was with those who've been granted the title before. From his years-long friendship with fellow Massachusetts natives Matt Damon and Ben Affleck — both of whom he dined with on the day his new title was announced — to sitting just a table over from Denzel Washington at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards, it turns out Krasinski has brushed shoulders with at least 10 previous winners, making him a keystone member of a very elite fraternity.

George Clooney

Two years in a row, Krasinski and his wife, Emily Blunt, have shown their support for two-time Sexiest Man Alive George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney at the Clooney Foundation for Justice's Albie Awards in New York City.

As it turns out, they go way back: Clooney directed and costarred with Krasinski in the 2008 film Leatherheads and in 2010, the Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan actor wed Blunt at Clooney's Lake Como estate.

Matt Damon

Not only is Krasinski longtime pals with fellow Bostonian and 2007's Sexiest Man Alive Matt Damon, the two have even been neighbors!

"We're like some weird commune," Blunt said of their Brooklyn apartment building in 2023. "Like, I don't ever see Matt Damon not in his slippers anymore, you know. He's just always in his slippers. I haven't seen him in regular shoes in a long time."

Krasinski was all too happy to photobomb reunions between Blunt, Damon and their Oppenheimer costars in summer 2023.

Ben Affleck

Speaking of Boston! Krasinski and 2002's Sexiest Man Alive (and noted Boston superfan) Ben Affleck brought it in for a hug at the 2013 SAG Awards.

Bradley Cooper

At the 2024 Oscars, Krasinski and 2011's Sexiest Man Alive Bradley Cooper shared a good laugh during the ceremony.

Ryan Reynolds, Matt Damon & Bradley Cooper

The New York City premiere of IF in 2024 was not only a gathering of the film's star-studded cast, it turned out to be a reunion of multiple Sexiest Men Alive from the past — and future: 2011's Cooper, 2010's Ryan Reynolds, 2007's Damon and our newly minted Sexiest Man Alive who directed and wrote the film. (And the connections didn't start there: Clooney and 1995 and 2006's Brad Pitt also make voice appearances in the film!)

Ryan Reynolds

Reynolds (seen with Krasinski on the IF set in 2022) starred in the 2024 film — and perhaps gave his director some posing pointers should he ever get the Sexiest Man Alive title in the future.

Idris Elba

During season 5 of The Office, on which Krasinski starred as Jim Halpert, 2018's Sexiest Man Alive Idris Elba had a guest arc on the series, playing Charles Miner for several episodes.

David Beckham

Back in 2008, Krasinski caught a basketball game with Jason Bateman and future Sexiest Man Alive David Beckham, who took home the title in 2015.

Chris Hemsworth & Chris Evans

A year after Chris Hemsworth was crowned Sexiest Man Alive in 2014, he joked around at the the Critics' Choice Movie Awards with two future titleholders: Krasinski and Chris Evans.

Denzel Washington

Where's Waldo, Sexiest Man Alive edition. When 1996's Sexiest Man Alive Denzel Washington took his seat (top left) at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards he wouldn't have known he was sitting just feet away from the 2024 title holder (middle back).
