WITH the cost of living steadily rising, it’s becoming more and more expensive for parents to ensure their kids have everything they need.

So it’s no wonder savvy mums are racing to the high street, after spotting boys’ pants on sale in Poundland for just 16p a pair.

As well as these gorgeous plastic pink wine glasses perfect for a summer picnic – while Michele said they were £1 a pack, someone else found them reduced to just 50p

Michele took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share pictures of some of the bargain buys in her local Bromsgrove store.

“Poundland bargains from 25p to £1,” she wrote.

Some of the pictures showed the bargain bucket full to the brim of cheap buys, including a pack of three boys’ briefs for just 50p – meaning they’re just 16p a pair.

And they weren’t just boring white ones either – these had the Smurfs printed on them.

There were also five packs of pants for a pound, with one pack having an alien theme, while the other had Mickey Mouse on them.

In comparison, a five pack of boys’ pants at Marks & Spencer would set you back around £9.50.

Another basket showed loads of boys’ socks that had been reduced, with some marked up at just 25p a pair – down from £1.50.

In addition, there was a pack of four pairs of boys’ socks for just 50p, making them 12p each.

And other parents were quick to hop on the post to thank Michele for sharing her finds.

“Guess where we are going?” one person commented on the post, tagging a friend.

But the pal noted how quickly such bargains get snapped up, as she replied: “Probably be all gone by then!”

“Think we better check ours out,” another shopper told a friend.

As a third commented: “These would be perfect to donate!”

Other epic buys in the Bromsgrove store included a pack of four stylish pink plastic wine glasses for £1, down from £2.

However, another post on the Facebook group showed that the glasses had actually had their price slashed once again – down to just 50p.

There was also a cake stand for £2, kitchen utensils including a tin opener and ice cream scoop for 25p each, and some cute Easter gonks for £1.

An ex employee on Poundland's prices

Holly Laing, 22, from Northampton, has revealed she used to work in Poundland and often heard customers say the same annoying thing.

Holly claimed she worked for Poundland in 2015 for three months as a Christmas temp.

She said that customers would get annoyed when products cost more than £1 individually.

In a comical video, Holly acted out a scenario that often occurred on her shift at the bargain store, where customers were always baffled and irritated that items could cost over £1.

Holly uploaded her video with the caption “I heard this a lot” as she said: "POV: Not everything’s £1 in Poundland".

Holly explained that customers would often say to her: "But this is the pound shop, is it not?"

“That's very misleading, I'll only pay for that if it's a pound."

"Disgusting, what a rip off.”

“Look how cute they are!” one person gushed about the adorable figurines, which had a pink furry hat with a flower attached to the front.

“OMG need them!” another insisted.
