From 1993 to 1994, Eva portrayed barmaid Tanya Pooley in long-running soap Coronation Street.

Tanya, a spiteful character who frequently made hurtful comments, was introduced working at Queens, a pub managed by Liz McDonald (Bevereley Callard).

Upon joining the Rovers Return, she soon formed a rivalry with Raquel Wolstenhulme (Sarah Lancashire).

Meanwhile, Tanya also made a habit of pursuing men who were already taken.

This included married man Alex Christie (Gavin Richards), as well as Des Barnes (Philip Middlemiss) and Charlie Whelan (John St. Ryan), who both had girlfriends.

She ultimately left the Street with Charlie, who’d been dating her boss Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear).

Later on, actress Eva appeared in BBC school drama Waterloo Road from 2007 to 2010.

She played the role of Rachel Mason, who would go on to become the series’ longest-serving headmistress.

Arriving after Jack Rimmer’s (Jason Merrells) surprise resignation, Rachel won over the school staff after an ambitious start.

Meanwhile, it later transpired that the character’s actual name was Amanda Fenshaw and she’d been a prostitute before becoming a teacher.

After coming into conflict with Executive Head Max Tyler (Tom Chambers), Rachel left the school after marrying Adam Fleet (Steven Waddington).

From 1997 to 1998, Eva held a regular role as Stephanie Jacobs on Sky One sports drama Dream Team.

Following fictional football club Harchester United, the show began as a half-hour soap opera before being reformatted into a primetime drama.

Alison King, who plays Carla Connor in Coronation Street, appeared in Dream Team as Lynda Block from 1998 to 2007.
