"I've been dealing with an immense amount of hate for like six months now. I had an album coming out. I was so stressed and anxious all the time I started losing weight, and then everyone started to comment on it," Barrett said in a clip posted on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
The "Passenger Princess" said comments about her appearance "manifested in my eating disorder," causing her to be "pushed" into recovery by "all the people around me and everyone who loves me."

"I'm recovering. I'm getting better," Barrett continued. "I've been in recovery for two weeks now, and everyone is constantly still commenting about how sick I am. This sh-- takes time, and there's going to be moments — I'm going to deal with it for the rest of my life, so stop talking about it whenever I start to struggle again. That's just life."
The performer, who told Nylon in a 2022 interview that her eating disorder began when she was in middle school, said she appreciates fans who comment on her weight out of "concern and love," but others are being "flat-out rude and ignorant."
"How could you expect anyone to get better when this is like constantly thrown at your face? Let's just stop speculating, maybe, and let me be. Also like, I'm a 22-year-old woman. I have my sh-- figured out, like, I can handle myself," Barrett continued in her video, adding that she's "sick of being treated like a baby."
"I'm fine, and I'm healing, and all these f------ stupid a-- comments about how f------ different I look. Yeah, weights gonna do that to you. Oh, I'm growing up. Age is gonna do that to you. And, yeah, I got my f------ nose done. So f----- what," she further added.
Barrett ended the clip by stating that she loves her life right now after "struggling with my weight for a hot minute."

Earlier in the video, she also denied claims that her weight loss is a result of drug use, explaining, "I don't touch that sh-- and I don't surround myself with people that touch that sh--." She further added that the only medication she's on is mood stabilizers and "occasionally" ADHD medication.
