Naomi Watts brought an extra special plus one to the premiere of her new film.

On Thursday, Oct. 3, the actress, 56, stepped out with her son, Sasha, as her date to the New York Film Festival premiere of her new movie, The Friend. The 17-year-old looked all grown up as he stood tall next to his mom on the red carpet.

The mom of two smiled big with her arm around her firstborn, rocking a black dress with a sheer corset bodice and latex bubble skirt. The teen matched his mom's color scheme, wearing a black suit jacket, black tee, black slacks and black sneakers.

In The Friend, Watts plays a novelist and creative writing teacher whose solitary life is upended after the unexpected death of a friend (Bill Murray), who bequeaths his Great Dane to her, per the NYFF's official synopsis.

Watt's canine costar also made an appearance alongside the actress at Alice Tully Hall, where the film was screened on Thursday night.

Two weeks prior, on Saturday, Sept. 21, Watts shared on her Instagram Stories that the mother-son duo were spending some quality time together in the Big Apple.

In the selfie, the Feud: Capote vs. The Swans star grinned as she stood slightly in front of her 17-year-old son on the streets of N.Y.C. The actress wore a black top, gold necklace and black sunglasses, while Sasha sported a black T-shirt.

"Saturday with my boy," she sweetly wrote over the bottom of the image, tagging her son.

Watts shares Sasha and her younger child, Kai, with ex Liev Schreiber. She's now married to Billy Crudup, who shares son William Atticus Parker with his ex, Mary-Louise Parker.

On Thursday, Sept. 5 Watts posted a snap on her Instagram Stories honoring Kai's first day of junior year of high school. In the photo, Kai could be seen wearing a denim skirt and pink top on a walk to school. The teen also held a tan Longchamp bag.

"Here comes 11th grade!!" Watts wrote across the picture.

The previous month, she had shared a sweet black-and-white image of Sasha cuddling her dog on her Instagram Stories. "He's home," Watts wrote over the photo.

Though he regularly appears on his mom's Instagram while spending time with her in N.Y.C., Sasha studies at The Mountain School in Vermont, his dad said during an interview on Live with Kelly and Mark back in April.
