It's time to defrost the Queen of Christmas — on Fortnite.

After emerging from an ice block that appeared on the Island a few days ago, Mariah Carey will bring her festive spirit — and holiday favorite "All I Want for Christmas Is You" — to Winterfest until Jan. 7.

"My Fortnite character is basically me with some different outfits, skins," the "We Belong Together" artist, 55, tells PEOPLE. "I'm so excited about this. It's really cute."

Fans will be able to celebrate the holidays with "really cute" new outfits in the Shop, like Carey's Santa suit inspired by the Merry Christmas album cover and a glamorous gold number inspired by the Emancipation of Mimi album cover.

According to the singing icon, her interest in Fortnite stems from her 13-year-old son, Moroccan, a.k.a. "Roc," whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon.

"I was watching my son play Fortnite for the longest time, and then he taught me how to play," says Carey. "It's been cute little excursion figuring out if we were going to be able to do this [Fortnite collaboration] or not."

After wrapping her Christmas Time Tour on Dec. 17 in Brooklyn, where she signed Rihanna's breast, the "Heartbreaker" performer also opens up to PEOPLE up about the future of her holiday shows.

"I really love doing it, I just need to schedule it a little bit differently because this year I'd gotten sick just from being out there too long," says Carey, who was forced to cancel three shows after she came down with the flu.

Carey, of course, added that her Christmas shows are something she'll probably "always do."

The Grammy winner also revealed she isn't "sick of" Christmas at all — and she'd love to cover "another slow, sad song" for the holidays.

"I'm in Aspen, and right now, 'Oh, Santa' is playing over the speakers. And I'm like, 'I guess I'm not sick of it,'" Carey laughs.
