Love Is Blindalum Marshall Glaze has split from fiancée Chay Barnes, PEOPLE can confirm.
The season 4 star, 29, has called it quits with Barnes less than a year after they got engaged. "Ultimately, we came to the realization that we just want different things right now," Glaze told PEOPLE exclusively at the DirecTV x PEOPLE EW Reality TV Party on Thursday, Sept, 26.
"You know, it's okay. Things happen and we're not ruling each other out. Time will only tell," he shared. "I watched her soar to her mountaintop. She got her PhD, she's doing her thing as nurse practitioner, nurse midwife at the No. 1 hospital in Washington state and I was tired of just kind of waiting back and seeing what's next for me."
"So I went out there and I'm getting it. She understands that, I understand it, and we're just going forward," he continued.
Glaze added that the pair's relationship was a "very positive experience."

Marshall Glaze and Chay BarnesGlaze was first introduced to fans on season 4 of Love Is Blind, which was based in Seattle. He split from fiancée Jackie Bonds not long after they left the pods on the show, and later introduced Barnes on After the Altar in September 2023.
During the episode, he and Barnes met up with costars Tiffany and Brett Brown at a local bar. When Barnes stepped away for a moment, Glaze confided in Brett, telling him, "I do know that's who I want. That's who I wanna spend my life with."
"First person I want to call is her, and that says something," he added of Barnes, who is a nurse practitioner and nurse midwife. "I just feel it. I'm happy, man. I'm extremely happy."

As the couple marked their first anniversary together last July, they reflected on their strong bond in a joint Instagram post.
"One year of laughing, crying, adjusting, communicating, healing…" they wrote. "Our journey to where we are today is a testament of resilience and unconditional love for one another. Cheers to Year One and cheers to many more."
In December 2023, Glaze and Barnes announced they were engaged after Glaze popped the question just days before Christmas. One of his Love Is Blind season 4 costars, Irina Solomonova, who runs an event planning company, also helped him pull off the romantic moment.
Following their split, Glaze wiped his social media clean of Barnes, aside from a few scattered posts. He has also since moved to Los Angeles after previously residing in Seattle.
