Kelly Clarkson is enjoying this phase of life as she settles into being a New York City mom.
After the "Breakaway" singer, 42, moved with her daughter River, 10, and son Remington "Remy," 8, to the Big Apple in 2023, Clarkson has settled into her new life as she balances working on her talk show with being a mom to her two kids.
"Kelly kind of lives in a bubble. She's all about the kids and work," a source tells PEOPLE. "She loves being a mom. Her kids have been clear that they don't want her to date, so she's not."
"She feels very satisfied with life as it is. She knows as the kids get older, dating will be easier. This is not anything she misses at the moment," adds the source.

In November, Clarkson spoke about whether or not she's open to dating while appearing on KOST 103.5. The mom of two said she's "enjoying being single" at the moment, but noted that her two kids aren't looking forward to her dipping her toes back into dating.
"They constantly bring it up, 'Please, we don't want you with anybody else,' " Clarkson shared. "They're young, it's hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad."
Although Clarkson said that she's been liking single life, the musician noted that she won't always be adhering to her kids' wishes.
"I have expressed like, 'Hey, I love you guys but Mommy needs loving too,' " Clarkson shared.
In August 2023, both Remy and River joined the Grammy Winner onstage at her Las Vegas residency. While chatting with PEOPLE for her 2024 cover story, the mom of two revealed that the family performance was the kids' idea.
"They were a little nervous, but it was their idea, not mine," Clarkson told PEOPLE. Performing in front of a sold-out theater, River opted for a duet of her mom's hit "Heartbeat Song," while Remington gleefully danced backup as Clarkson sang "Whole Lotta Woman."
As her kids watched their mom captivate the audience, "I was like, 'I feel like how you're looking at me is how you watch Spider-Man,' " Clarkson recalled. "It caught me completely off guard, and it was the most magical moment because they were so happy and at ease. They were just in awe."
