Jenny Slate in It Ends with UsJenny Slate is not interested in discussing the controversy surrounding It Ends With Us.
When Slate, 42, sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about her upcoming FX series Dying for Sex, the actress and comedian made clear that she does not wish to comment on the ongoing legal battle between her It Ends With Us costars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, which began in December 2024 when Lively sued Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios, alleging sexual harassment and a retaliatory public smear campaign to "destroy" her reputation.
"I don't have anything to say about that," she told the outlet, when THR asked her to compare making It Ends With Us to her new television series, in which she costars with Michelle Williams.
"Everything is its own thing. I poured my heart into this work, and every minute of [Dying for Sex] was important to me, and I just want to talk about that," Slate said. The outlet additionally noted that Slate began filming Dying for Sex shortly after she wrapped production on It Ends With Us, in which she portrayed Baldoni's character's sister.
When THR asked Slate how she plans to maintain boundaries over what types of questions she will answer going forward, she said, "Anyone can ask anything, but my only responsibility is to speak about the work I'm there to promote. It was so important to me to get this job, so why would I spend time talking about anything but that?"
