IN the quest for youthful, radiant skin, many turn to expensive treatments and products.
However, one skincare enthusiast, who proudly maintains her youthful appearance at 37 without ever resorting to Botox, threads, fillers, or any cosmetic procedures, shares some lesser-known anti-ageing tips.
Nadine, who makes her skincare a personal priority, regularly shares savvy tips and tricks on her TikTok account @thenaturalnadine.
In one video she shared her "top skin care secrets that will transform your skin and overall health."
Drawing from her personal experience and a self-professed “lazy girl” skincare routine, she revealed practical and affordable ways to maintain healthy skin.
She says: “These are anti-ageing tips no one talks about, but they will transform your skin. I know this because I’m 37 years old.
"I’ve never done Botox, threads, filler, or any type of cosmetic procedures.
"A lot of these discoveries I came across because I definitely have a lazy girl skincare routine."
This brought Nadine to her first discovery, which was to only wash her face once a day.
She continues: "I started to see articles from celebrities and dermatologists saying you should only wash your face once a day because you want to retain the natural oils in your skin.
"You’re not continuously stripping your skin of those natural oils.
"What you can do instead is just rinse your face with water if you want to, but only use filtered water.
"The water you apply to your face and hands is just as important as the water you drink because there’s a lot of bad chemicals."
Nadine explains that Chlorine can cause "premature ageing and it can make your skin look more dehydrated."
According to beauty experts, excessive exposure to chlorine dries out the skin, leading to irritation and itchiness.
Prolonged contact with chlorine over the years can cause premature ageing and significantly impact the health of your skin.
I never understood why I should wash my face in the AM after I did my night skincare routine

Nadine continues: "When I rinse my face, I only use these soft cotton pads.
"The skin on our face is so much different from the skin on our body.
"I think a towel is just way too harsh."
Nadine also stresses the importance of the food we eat.
Why is fermented rice water an anti-ageing powerhouse?
Fermented rice water has gained popularity in skincare for its cheap - but wildly effective - benefits.
- It is is packed with vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants – including vitamins B, C, and E – which help promote a healthy, radiant complexion
- The fermentation process produces enzymes that enhance rice water’s ability to lighten dark spots and banish hyperpigmentation
- The cooling and anti-inflammatory properties of fermented rice water can help calm irritated or sensitive skin, which is particularly beneficial for conditions like eczema, acne, and sunburn
- Regular use of fermented rice water can lead to smoother, softer skin by promoting gentle exfoliation. The natural acids formed during fermentation help to remove dead skin cells, revealing a fresher layer of skin
- It is also known to promote cell regeneration, which can help heal scars and improve the overall appearance of the skin
She says: "I always tell you to eat your skincare.
“So make sure you’re consuming as much vitamin C as you’re applying to your face because the vitamin C you consume will actually help you build collagen and also protect your immune system."
Lastly, Nadine recommends investing in a "really" high antioxidant-rich skincare "rather than expensive, toxic skincare products."
They’re popular because of marketing
Nadine
She says: "More antioxidants mean more anti-ageing benefits.
"A lot of these well-known, super expensive brands are also very toxic.
"They’re popular because of marketing, but what your skin really needs is more antioxidants to help you build collagen."
Her video gained over 800,000 views with many beauty fans rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One wrote: "I just put water on my face to wake up and in the evening use an aha product to clean it."
Another added: "Yes!!! I never understood why I should wash my face in the AM after I did my night skincare routine."
To which Nadine replied: "Omg same!! It worked out for me bc [because] I was always running late lol no time for face washing again."
