Using freebies and sale bargains, Melissa Walker was able to turn her hallway from drab to fab.

She ditched her 'awful' green carpet and instead, turned her space into the perfect leopard print paradise.

Thrilled with her DIY job, which cost her less than £500 in total, Melissa took to social media to share a before and after look of her space.

Posting on DIY On A Budget, a private Facebook group with 2.2 million members, the savvy woman left many open-mouthed with her hallway's overhaul.

Alongside snaps of her once dated hallway, which had green carpet, plain white walls and a dark brown banister, Melissa penned: "Moved in January and have nearly got my hallway how I want it."

Now, Melissa's space is super trendy, with chic panelling on the walls, stylish flooring and a bold black banister.

Not only this, but she's said goodbye to the dated carpet and has given her stairs a fierce new look with leopard print carpet.

Clearly overjoyed with her home's new look, Melissa beamed: "Love a bit of DIY!"

She then added: "Just got to panel the top of the first set of stairs between the two landings and paint my hallway doors."

Melissa then gave an in-depth breakdown of the cost of her makeover to Fabulous, which she claimed was less than £500 in total.

Melissa told Fabulous that she ripped up the old carpet and transformed her floor using ceramic tiles from Tile Warehouse.

She spent £450 on carpet for her stairs and landings, which included the underlay and fitting from Online Carpets.
