How Luke Littler celebrated incredible World Darts Championship win as he beams at message from hero David Beckham

LUKE LITTLER’S mobile phone went into meltdown amid a flurry of congratulation messages – but one stood out amongst them all.
Littler – still only 17 – became darts’ youngest world champion of all time after beating Michael van Gerwen in the PDC final.

Littler said: "Just went back. Turned my phone off airplane mode.
“I think I lost 20 per cent of my battery by the time the notification cames through. I replied to so many people.
“Then it was a case of going to asleep and getting prepared for today."
Littler – an avid Manchester United fan – beamed as he opened up on receiving a text from football hero David Beckham.
He said: "Obviously, David Beckham messaged. He said: 'Great, well done.'"
Littler’s career earnings have now soured past £1MILLION since turning professional only 12 months ago.

But he admitted to having “no idea” how he would spend the £500,000 prize he won after defeating Van Gerwen 7-3.
Littler is eyeing the World No1 spot and hopes to one day surpass the great Phil Taylor.
He said: "I want to become one of the best of all time.
“It will take however many times. Phil Taylor won many. I know Michael has won 100-plus titles.
“But for myself, I want to win as much as I can."
