A HIT Channel 4 cooking programme has been axed after two series on air – despite rave reviews from fans.
The Sun can reveal bosses at the broadcaster have sliced and diced Celeb Cooking School from the schedule.
Launching in 2022, the format saw celebrities attempt to improve their self-proclaimed disastrous culinary skills.
Over the course of the series the famous faces took part in technical cooking challenges, while being judged by Michelin star chef Giorgio Locatelli.
DJ and presenter Melvin Odoom hosted both series as each week a celeb was booted out of the competition.
Stars who donned their aprons for the E4 show include I’m A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson, Italian lawyer Nancy Dell’Olio, Kerry Katona and Happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder.
A source said: “The crew were a bit surprised Channel 4 decided not to proceed with a third series, which would have been filmed in Spring this year.
“The show was a hit with fans and produced some really good TV moments filled with hilarious innuendos and attracted high-profile stars for E4.
“Off camera there were plenty of fiery moments too given the diverse lineup.”
Last year The Sun told how Celebrity Big Brother winner Scotty T had left his co-stars of Celeb Cooking School furious with his bad time-keeping.
Some even demanded he was booted from the show after he delayed filming.
A source previously said: “Scotty became unpopular among some of the Celeb Cooking School cast because he turned up late to filming and pushed everything back.
“They thought he was selfish and that he showed no consideration for any of the cast or crew.
“During filming he was late on a number of occasions, which meant everything ran on and they finished than they should.
Former glamour model Katie Price was due to appear on the second series but left bosses high and dry at the last minute, plunging the show into chaos.

- Another national treasure, The Great British Bake Off welcomes a group of 12 amateur bakers to put their culinary skills to the test with Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith judging their efforts. One contestant is eliminated each week until the final three face off in the last week.
Bake Off: The Professionals
- Bake Off: The Professionals puts a twist on GBBO, pitting two teams of professional pastry chefs against each other in every episode. It’s up to judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden to determine who has what it takes to make it through to the final.
