Gigi Hadid Reveals the Super Relatable Way She and Boyfriend Bradley Cooper First Met

Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper's origin story is actually quite normal.

In Vogue's April cover story, the model opened up about the origins of her relationship with the actor, 50. Hadid, 29, happened upon Cooper in a surprisingly chill atmosphere — at a backyard birthday party for a mutual friend's child.

But Hadid sees the seemingly mundane way she met her boyfriend — considering his and her own fame — to be a net positive.

"You want to give yourself a normal experience of dating, and even for my friends who aren't public figures, that's hard," she told the outlet. "Where do you go? And, what? You just start talking to people?"

She continued, "And then there's another added layer of privacy and security. You want to believe that people are going to have your back and not call TMZ or go on Deuxmoi or whatever, but you just don't know."

Hadid and Cooper were first linked in October 2023, shortly after their respective breakups from Leonardo DiCaprio and Irina Shayk. They've been seen together on a number of dates and outings since then.

A source told PEOPLE in January that an engagement "would be a big step," but they're perfectly content as they are. They also spend time with each other's families, as do their kids, they said.

"Neither are looking to rush anything, but that's not to say they're not very happy together," the source said, adding, "Gigi has a free spirit personality and she brings out a fun side of Bradley."

Cooper and Hadid have kept their relationship mostly private — not because any part of it is a big secret, Hadid told Vogue, but because the nature of their connection is to keep many moments to themselves.
